Rabbi Simcha Raphael, PhD, is founding Director of the DA’AT Institute for Death Awareness, Advocacy and Training. He is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Religion and Theology at LaSalle University and works as a psychotherapist and bereavement counselor affiliated with Mount Airy Counseling Center in Philadelphia. Ordained by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi as a rabbinic pastor, he is author of numerous publications on death and afterlife including the groundbreaking text, Jewish Views of the Afterlife.

Dr. Andrew Holecek, who has completed a traditional three-year solitary Buddhist meditation retreat, offers seminars internationally on meditation, dream yoga, and the art of dying. He is the author of many books, including: Preparing to Die: Practical Advice and Spiritual Wisdom from the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition, and Dream Yoga: Illuminating Your Life Through Lucid Dreaming and the Tibetan Yogas of Sleep. Andrew’s work seeks to bridge Western knowledge with Eastern wisdom to provide a full-spectrum approach to the realization of human potential. He holds degrees in classical music, biology, as well as a doctorate in dental surgery.
