How Cross-Cultural and Indigenous Music Therapies Can Be Used in Western Healthcare

with Pat Moffitt Cook

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

This 3-session program explores indigenous and traditional cross-cultural therapeutic techniques and sound/music repertoires used in Western healthcare settings today. An emphasis is placed on transcultural themes and addressing the needs of multi-ethnic client/patient populations. Each session is conducted through lecture, demonstrations, individual, dyad and group experiences, discussion and audiovisual presentations.

Topic highlights include:

  • Learn how sound and music are used as diagnostic tools, healing agents and connectors to spiritual domains
  • Learn indigenous and cross-cultural musical healing applications for healthcare and education
  • Explore how to utilize sound and music to construct a dynamic healing session

Note: This program will be offered online. Sessions of all our online programs will be recorded and shared with registrants after each is completed for 90 days.
