Founder and President 28 years. Chair, Board of Directors.

2. What’s your favorite OC memory?

Staff celebrations.

3. What is your favorite class you’ve taken at The OC?
“The Zen of Seeing” (Frederick Franck), and many more.

4. What are some of the last books you read that really inspired you?
Karen Armstrong, In the Beginning: A New Interpretation of Genesis; Julian Jaynes, The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind; the Synoptic Gospels; Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching.

5. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

Reading philosophy, theology, meditation, current news.

6. Do you live by any piece of advice or motto?
Listen, learn, meditate, act and transit.

 

Ralph White

1. What is your job title and how long have you been with The OC?
Since the very beginning. I wrote the first letter of invitation to a presenter in spring 1983. Co-founder, Conference Director.


2. What’s your favorite OC memory?

A hundred Friday nights at 83 Spring St. with three full programs; a line out of the front door of waiting registrants, and many drinks, laughs and dinners after the events at Spring St. Natural a restaurant nearby with speakers, staff and friends.

3. What is your favorite class you’ve taken at The OC
The first Esoteric Quest – the Rosicrucian Enlightenment revisited – in Cesky Krumlov, the Southern Bohemian Mecca of alchemists, in 1995. I created and directed it.


4. What is the last book you read that really inspired you? or what are you currently reading?

Autumn in the Heavenly Kingdom: China, the West, and The Epic Story of the Taiping Civil War by Stephen Platt.

The gripping and amazing story, barely known in the West, of the most enormous war of the 19th Century, and its spiritual origins.

I am also always reading the works of Rudolf Steiner, philosopher, reformer, seer and teacher.


5. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

Relaxing by the ocean or in beautiful nature with good friends, perfect weather and a bottle of wine.


6. Do you live by any piece of advice or motto?
