The Art of Dying Institute presents:
A unique learning experience with the goal of creating and supporting a community ready to embrace end of life with intelligence, warmth, and humor. The Long Before The End Book Group is a moderated discussion gathering where members explore death as the protagonist, minor actor, or overarching plotline in contemporary fictional narratives. We do not read “how to die” books, but rather, how to live, long before the end.
Some of the benefits of joining us:
- Lively discussions help readers gain insight into the value of living a richer life
- Exploring impermanence through storytelling is a valuable, lifelong learning tool
- Engaging in a group dynamic fosters personal growth
- Sharing experiences supports and strengthens one’s death literacy
The Long Before The End Book Club at the NY Open Center will meet four times per year, once per quarter.
Upcoming additional date: September 10, 2019.
This event is co-presented by Bevival a content and community platform where people can transform their relationship with aging and the end of life. Bevival creates and produces death literacy workshops, events, podcasts, book group chapters, and educational programming including the Celebrating Aging In Film Series and Dying To Know Day (August 8th), America’s annual death literacy awareness event supporting the global ACP movement.
