As billionaires compete with each other to see who can race to space the fastest and farthest, one wonders why leaving Mother Earth behind is so pressing a goal. What are we running from?
Thomas Merton decried the effort put into space travel at the expense of ignoring that “inner journey [that is] the most important of all voyages of discovery.” He asked: “What can we gain by sailing to the moon if we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves.” Maybe if we put more emphasis on the inner journey, Earth would be a saner and healthier place to live in.
Mystics can assist us in the inner journey and there is a mystic or deep lover in each of us. In this workshop we will explore some of the wisdom from the mystics that names our inner journey worth taking. Among these mystics will be Julian of Norwich (who lived through the worst pandemic in European history); Hildegard of Bingen; Mary Oliver; and Thomas Merton/Meister Eckhart.
Note: This program will be offered online. Sessions of all our online programs will be recorded and shared with registrants after each is completed for 90 days.
