The Alexander Technique is a hands-on method of movement re-education that teaches us to recognize and change longterm postural and movement patterns that might be interfering with our natural ability to move with ease and fluidity. Learn to observe the habitual ways that we hold tension in our bodies and how to release that tension and rediscover our inner sense of grace and coordination. We will work with applying the Alexander principles to everyday activities, as well as to specialized skills, and explore how Alexander can be a tool for enhancing awareness in all aspects of our lives.

“I had an absolutely outstanding experience in the class. Gaining the awareness of my physical habits and the experience of letting go of them has had such a positive effect on me that goes well beyond the great physical benefits.”
– Michelle D.
“I’ve learned so much about my spine and how my body works, and the potential to appear elegant and confident”
“Hope’s soothing voice and hands, combined with her wise counsel, opened up now, less stressful ways of living.”
– Catherine T.
“It was very beneficial to have the mechanics of our posture pointed out and to receive individual attention. The Alexander view is profound, especially the idea of not trying to achieve some result and just relaxing into what is natural. The class was well-organized, gentle, and playful.”
– Steve A.
