TRE® (Trauma/Tension Release Exercises) is a series of exercises designed to activate the body’s natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating, to release deeply held stress, tension, and trauma. Liberation of the muscular tension will calm the nervous system, allowing one to return the body back into a state of balance and equilibrium.
We are taught to literally hold it in, when in fact we should be shaking it off. The exercises are intended to fatigue the body, allowing the shaking to discharge tension and patterns of muscular contractions.
Note: This method is helpful for military personnel, EMTs, emergency room personnel, as well as families, children, or anyone that has experienced stress, tension, or trauma in their lives.
