How often have you been faced with a challenge and simply wished it wasn’t happening to you? Right, who hasn’t? When we look back at our lives we can see how those times of challenge have actually helped us grow or evolve in some way. That it is through the times of challenge, times that are most often uncomfortable, that we are growing. We are a part of life, and just like all of life, when we are not growing we are dying. Life itself is always evolving, progressing and expanding. When we learn to say YES to life as it is showing up, we get into the flow and life unfolds in a perfect and miraculous way. When we learn to think how the universe thinks, then we get into the flow and we regain our faith that life is good, life is happening for our benefit and it all going to be alright.
As my life gets more and more full, with 3 toddlers, a growing business and dreams that seem to get bigger everyday, I have recently taken to the practice of prayer and I have figured out that my 3 favorite prayers are: Yes. How? Thank you.
When we simply live in the mindset of YES, Yes to life as it is, all of it—Yes to others as they are, Yes to our challenges, Yes to our dreams—we think like the universe thinks. We put ourselves in the flow and open our heart and mind to miracles. We then find ways to use our challenges as opportunities.
My second favorite prayer is “How?” Please show me How to live in love; where fear has blocked me, may love now surround me, guide me, direct and inspire me. I surrender to the plans of the universe. The answer to How? is always “Yes”. It is a willing and open heart to simply engage in full participation of the outcome with positive expectation instead of pessimism or criticism.
My third favorite prayer is “Thank you.” Eckhart Tolle says if “thank you” is the only prayer we say in our lifetime it would be enough. So often we are so focused on what we don’t have that we hypnotize ourselves into thinking something is wrong: wrong with us, wrong with life or simply just wrong. In learning to appreciate all that we have wholeheartedly, we start to see that we have enough and that we are enough.
Prayer changes us and as a result our life changes. It is about developing a relationship with God, the I Am presence within you, love. The more we take time in our day to make this sacred connection and develop the relationship to our higher self, the more we realize we are part of a vast and perfect universe and that the challenges we face are gifts. God cannot simply put something in your hand, but he will create the opportunity for you to earn it. Because we are beings of free will, nothing can be imposed upon us. We must take the action and that action often gets us out of our comfort zone.
Just remember to ask in times of challenge, “Why is this happening FOR me?” Then take action with the expectation that it is all working out. Release your doubt.
You are powerful beyond measure stronger then you seem and braver then you think! You are loved.
