ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

A Weekly Class
(4 Sessions) Tuesdays, Feb.23 – March 16, 2021, 7:00 – 8:15 pm EST

Qigong is a general term describing a wide range of exercises and routines based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and developed over the centuries in both Taoist and Buddhist lineages. Some of these practices are designed to address specific health conditions, but in general they are used to increase strength and flexibility, boost health and aid in mind/body/spirit integration.

In this 4-week qigong self-care “clinic” program, the deeply experienced qigong teacher Kathryn Davis will teach us powerful, time tested self-nurturing, healing and spiritual cultivation techniques that can help restore our body’s natural recuperative abilities, revitalize our energy, cleanse toxins and toxic thought patterns, reduce anxiety and reconnect us with our essential self.

Our curriculum will include:

  • WEEK 1: Breath meditation and building core strength and immunity
  • WEEK 2: Moving meditations as well as mind-calming, heart-soothing and qi-circulation techniques
  • WEEK 3: A focus on physical and emotional detoxification
  • WEEK 4: Methods to draw from the healing energies of the earth and cosmos and ways to tailor qigong practices to our specific needs and goals

NOTES: Wear comfortable clothing. Have fresh water available to sip if needed. It is recommended that we devote 15 to 30 minutes each day to qigong practice during the duration of the course.

Registrants will receive: a bonus MP3 audio meditation download of “Four Route Relaxation Qigong,” especially designed to promote restorative/restful sleep; and a PDF document with a description of the forms and functions of the various qigong routines. Also, all participants will have the opportunity to take a free personal self-evaluation questionnaire before and after the program and will receive access to a video of the class to help with practicing the routines throughout the week.
