John Michelotti is a “”mushroom guy”” whose mission is to spread information about the benefits of fungi while inspiring people to appreciate and learn from nature. He is the President of the Mid-Hudson Mycological Association (MHMA) and a member of Connecticut Westchester Mycological (COMA), Pioneer Valley Mycological Association, and North American Mycological Association (NAMA). He has worked with Amazon Mycorenewal Project researching the utilization of Fungi to remediate oil spills in the Amazon Rainforest, hosted inoculation workshops, and served as an adviser on the Mushroom Advisory Panel for Certified Naturally Grown to develop the standards for ecological practices in mushroom production. He lives in Big Indian, NY, on a family farm where he cultivates Catskill Fungi.
