Meet Melissa Tiers, the founder of The Center For Integrative Hypnosis with a private hypnosis practice in New York City. She teaches classes in Integrative Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Psychology and mental health coaching.

How did you become interested in this line of work? (tell us a little bit about your background)

I was always fascinated with altered states of consciousness. Even as a very little girl I would spin, hyperventilate and basically do anything that would shift my mental state. I always credit a psychedelic experience with putting me on my particular career path. It was the experience of the true malleability of mind and the subjective nature of reality itself that led me deeper into the mind field.

Please share a wellness tip or word of advice that relates to the workshop you will be presenting.

This workshop is about finding the feeling and knowing sense of the undifferentiated mind. We all have access to it and when you’ve discovered your pathway there it stays with you.

What or who inspires you? (This could be anything from your mentor to your favorite quote)

What inspires me? Wow, that answer would be a few books long. I think as if relates to this workshop, all the people involved in psychedelic and consciousness research. The curious minds past, present and definitely future. One of my favorite quotes is “convictions are what you get when you stop thinking” and well, I never stop thinking…

What personal or professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

That’s a tough one. I have spent the last twenty years helping people overcome all kinds of issues but some of the most profound shifts happen when people realize their personal power. When I teach people how to connect with the self that transcends, then I feel like I have a calling.
