For millennia, yogis have used meditation to bring balance and a sense of purpose and to provide a source of wisdom and insight in their lives. The use of meditation for creativity, stress-relief, and wellness has been spreading beyond yoga studios to the workplace, schools, hospitals, and community centers. Scientific research continues to document the mental, physiological, and emotional benefits of meditation.
ISHTA Meditation training provides students with a direct link to an ancient lineage of meditation. ISHTA Yoga, created by Yogirajs Alan Finger and Sarah Finger, blends the ancient and contemporary sciences of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda, and uses flow, breathwork, and visualization. Together the Fingers have created a profound and accessible meditation training offering rich and proven practices to deepen your yoga and prepare you to teach meditation, if that is your goal. The training includes a primer on the philosophical structures underlying the meditation process. Sessions also cover the health benefits and neurophysiology of meditation.
The core of the training is the application of practices used in ISHTA Meditation, personalized instructions for using the techniques, and practice teaching them to ensure that students understand the nuances of the practices. ISHTA stands for the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda and is a system of yoga that resonates with the individual spirit.
