Many beneficial therapeutic methods involve shaking the body. There is a Kundalini Meditation in which one stands and shakes for 15 minutes. Also, many animals such as Antelopes literally shake off their fear after they have been frozen in terror because a predator had been in pursuit.
The act of shaking can be even more effective when combined with vocal sounding! The next time you feel paralyzed with a heavy, negative emotion or stress, try this simple exercise:
Plant your feet firmly on the ground while wiggling your knees, hips, abdomen, shoulders, head, arms and wrists back and forth in multiple directions. While shaking, open your mouth and let go some vocal sounds! This can be even more effective when you play around with making different shapes with your mouth and moving around your tongue as the free sounds roll out. Imagine that your pent-up frustrations with your day, your week, and your life are being expressed through the vocal sounds and you are literally shaking them off to be released.
This exercise can be done in 2 seconds or you can do it for a longer period of time –moving around an empty room to let go of all that which you don’t need. (You can even do it softly in an empty restroom if you are stuck in a place that is making you feel uncomfortable or are fatigued from travel!)
End this exercise with a moment of stillness and silence, breathing deeply and claiming the beautiful empty space that has been newly freed up within you.
Shake down with sound regularly and you will feel more up!__________________________________________________________________________________
