Kundalini Yoga is an ancient art devoted to awakening and empowering the latent potential within each of us. In this class we will use Kundalini Yoga’s techniques— breath, postures, movement, mantra and meditation—to strengthen, cleanse and heal our bodies and to boost the flow of subtle energy through our chakras. We will also add a powerful tool to the mix: the gong, a sacred instrument in the Kundalini tradition. The contrast of its subtle and quiet textures with its crashing sonic waves permits the gong’s sound to break through our mind’s chatter to help restore the energy and balance that is our original state. Combining Kundalini yoga exercises and meditation with an immersion in the sound of the gong can greatly deepen our practice, restore our energy and balance and lead us to states of deep relaxation.
