The New York Open Center and Ayurveda Day Spa present

A 150-Hour Holistic Health Counselor Certification

with Naina Marballi, Ayurvedacharya, and Amita Banerjee

This program is a 8-month, 150-hour course accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Upon successful completion of the program, each graduate will receive full national certification by AADP as a Certified Holistic Health Counselor. This first training of its kind in the U.S. integrates Western concepts with the Ayurvedic tradition to offer a comprehensive study of the effects of food on the human body, mind and consciousness. The course is conducted by Ayurvedic physician (ayurvedacharya) and esthetician Naina Marballi, who has 30 years of experience, and Amita Banerjee, a practicing Ayurvedic nutritionist and therapist for over 20 years.
Ayurveda, the world’s oldest systematic medical tradition, originated in India thousands of years ago, but its wisdom regarding attaining good health, vitality and happiness is universal and timeless. According to Ayurveda, most ailments originate from the imbalance of the digestive system and mind. Ayurveda teaches us how to make conscious nutritional choices that are best for our body and mind and in tune with our Prakriti or constitution. Food, the life force of all living things, nourishes the body, mind and spirit and is ultimately our best medicine.
This program also includes topics such as the ideal balance between rest and sleep, the importance of healthy posture, breathing techniques, and meditation. It teaches us how to ascertain an individual’s constitution and how to tailor an ideal lifestyle and diet to promote a better quality of life and optimal health for each person.
