Writing with Lust: Personal Writing for Transformation and Empowerment

Writing with Lust: Personal Writing for Transformation and Empowerment

Date & Time
10:00 am - 5:30 pm

Diana Raab, PhD

We each have a story inside us that is ours alone to tell. It may be the result of a life-changing event, an epiphany, a transcendent episode, or a secret, but many of us find it hard to clearly identify our story and/or to express it in words. Fear of what people might think and other inhibitions can keep our most authentic stories buried in our psyches, but by tapping into our passions we can gain access to our deepest narratives and find the confidence to share them with others, a uniquely transformative and empowering experience. This workshop, for all levels of writers from novices to professionals, offers a wealth of ideas and methods and creates a safe space to help us access and tell our most intimate stories, each in the form/style most suited to our essence, be it poetry, essays, memoirs, etc.. Using discussion, lecture, notebook/journal keeping, writing exercises, meditation, mindfulness, and other techniques, we will discover how to tap into our unique storytelling capacity.
