Learning to be mindful—to pay attention in the moment without resistance or judgment-—can shift the course of our lives. Instead of being driven by our fears and hopes, we learn how to listen to ourselves and others, to pause and respond wisely. In this course we will practice MBSR’s tools for living: the body scan, sitting meditation, mindful yoga and walking meditation, all of which increase self-awareness and empathy, connect us to our intuition, weaken unwholesome mental habits and replace struggle and stress with ease and relaxation. We will experiment with mindfulness while eating, communicating, and engaging in everyday activities. Come discover how living in the moment, with awareness and curiosity, can open your life and fill it with peace and wonder.

Note: A special 4.5-hour “silent retreat” class, which will take place on Thursday, June 19, 5:45-10pm, is an opportunity to experience mindfulness as a luxury of rest and repair.
