Painting With Sacred Geometry PDF Print E-mail

Sacred Geometry, used by the ancients in classical architecture, is a universal framework through which the spiritual manifests into the material, and also deals with perception and definition of space.
In this class we will explore how to apply the principles of sacred geometry and the "golden mean" to our own work on canvas by learning the technique of placement and discover how to: hold a pencil or brush and position our body in reference to the canvas in order to produce our best work; understand line contours; find light and shadow to define shapes; learn how to organize a painting with a basic sketch; manage different shapes and proportions; and finally choose a subject and paint.

We will each have a choice of starting off with a still-life or something more complex (such as portraiture), and by the end of the class we will each have completed a piece. All levels are welcomed. Wherever you are in your artistic ability, each participant will acquire and build confidence in their creative identity.

Note: A materials fee of $40 is to be paid directly to the instructor who will provide charcoal, newsprint, paper, acrylic paints and a canvas.
