Insight meditation—the practice of mindfulness developed in the Theravadan Buddhist tradition, is a straightforward, practical and compassionate approach to spiritual and personal development. It offers us a very effective way to reduce stress, let go of habitual, painful thinking patterns, and develop concentration, ease, well-being, and a deep understanding of the relationship between our body and mind. Through this practice, we learn to live with a more open heart and relate to life more skillfully.
In this six-week course, we will discover the fundamentals of this path—the practices of sitting and walking meditation, and the cultivation of mindfulness skills in our daily lives. The classes will include instruction, meditation, and ample time for discussion, and are suitable for students at all levels.
