For millennia, breathing techniques have been used to clear the mind, balance the nervous system, release blocked energy and revitalize the body. How we breathe is intimately connected to our emotional and physical well-being.

In this class, we will learn about the physiology of breath and the benefits of breathing practices, and address questions such as: Is there a relationship between breath, mind and body? How does breath affect our consciousness? Can physical and emotional conditions be altered by changing our patterns of breathing? We will learn time-tested, powerful techniques from yogic, Chinese and Kabbalistic traditions that use breath to reduce stress, enhance immune function, manage mood and pain, and harmonize the body, mind and spirit.

has taught meditation, nutrition, wellness and yoga since 1970. He is the executive director of the Genesis Society and the Tree of Life Yoga and Wellness Center, has a private practice in NYC, and is a wellness counselor and yoga therapist.
