As Above, So Below: The Tarot's Minor Arcana PDF Print E-mail
Ellen Goldberg, MA

Composed of a series of transformative images, the seventy-eight cards of the Tarot can offer us a handbook to higher consciousness and the counsel of a wise sage. The Tarot deck is arranged into two groups, the "major" and "minor" arcana. The twenty-two cards of the major arcana portray the archetypal forces and laws of the universe. The relationship between the major and minor arcana is an embodiment of the primary Hermetic axiom, "as above, so below." The fifty-six "minor" cards show how these universal principles are expressed in everyday life.

In tonight’s workshop we will explore how to interpret these fifty-six cards, focusing especially on their hermetic correspondences to astrological and Kabbalistic symbols. We will also learn a simple way to take an inner journey and "enter" into the world of a card to penetrate its meaning.
