Mirabai Starr
Acclaimed author and translator Mirabai Starr will lead an evening of contemplative readings from her new series of devotional books on great mystics: Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Francis of Assisi, and Hildegard of Bingen. She will also include readings on Michael the Archangel and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Using lyrical language and moments of silence, Mirabai will weave devotional writings with her own prose-poems on each wisdom figure, and reserve ample time to address questions.

Mirabai Starr is the translator of The Dark Night of the Soul by John of the Cross, The Interior Castle and The Book of My Life by Teresa of Avila. She is the author of Devotions, Prayers and Living Wisdom, a book series that includes Francis of Assisi, Michael the Archangel, Hildegard of Bingen, and Our Lady of Guadalupe. She teaches philosophy and world religions at the University of New Mexico, Taos. |
