Lesley Powell
Pilates training can change your body and your life. In this class we will discover how to: radically strengthen the body’s “core”—(our abdominals and lower backs); intensify our workouts; improve our muscle function; increase our flexibility; rehabilitate injuries; reduce stress; and boost our energy level. We will also learn Pilates ‘Stand,’ which teaches us how to improve our posture and stand taller and greatly strengthen our legs, changing the tone of our thigh muscles and preventing or relieving back pain. Lesley will address every aspect of fitness from enhancing athletic performance, to ensuring safer workout habits, to preparing for any activity. Lesley’s holistic approach includes proper movement initiation, spinal integrity and the seamless integration of breath with movement, helping equip us with the necessary tools for a lifetime of fitness and wellness.
Note: This class is designed to be of benefit both to those with no Pilates experience and to those who want to deepen their Pilates practice.
