Nonviolent Communication (NVC) involves four simple steps that can profoundly help us in connecting with and understanding others and in working with conflicts. It teaches us how to fully listen and communicate without judgment and to find "win-win" strategies that are mutually satisfying for everyone.

NVC, based on Gandhian principles and the humanist psychology of Carl Rogers, is now being used around the world to foster greater peace, understanding and effectiveness in families, schools, businesses and organizations. Living with compassion and empathy is at the heart of every faith and wisdom tradition and of all caring work, whether it's therapy, coaching, counseling, healthcare or healing. In this four-week introduction to Nonviolent CommunicationSM, we will learn how to practice the four basic NVC steps and experience the transformative power of compassion.
