1) Customer Service Agent
The New York Open Center is seeking a friendly, reliable person with excellent customer service, organization, and computer skills to serve as a Customer Service Agent.
This position is permanent Part-time (approximately 15-25 hours/week).·   From time to time, must be available to work weekends and holidays. ·   The Hourly wage is $10.   Duties include: Managing registration in person, over the phone, and via e-mail; Achieving proficiency with our registration database system; Assisting in supervising and training volunteers; scheduling bodywork sessions, setting up bodywork rooms, collecting payments.

 This job is ideal for anyone who loves the Open Center, is detailed oriented and   absolutely enjoys serving others.  And most importantly, portray a positive attitude of great customer service in alignment with the Open Center’s vision, goals and core values.

2) Manager of Finance

The New York Open Center, the City's oldest (25 years) and largest center for adult learning in holistic topics is seeking a Manager of Finance.  This person will work closely with the President and
Managing Director to ensure the overall financial health and functioning of the organization.  In consultation with the President and Managing Director, the Manager of Finance will:

•       Develop and manage an annual budget of $3.5 million including
        preparation of periodic budget forecasts;
•       Prepare internal financial statements monthly and quarterly
•       Prepare and maintain cash flow analyses to ensure an adequate supply
        of cash on hand
•       Implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures
•       Oversee staff to maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping including
         accounts receivable and payable
•       Demonstrate financial viability and accuracy to independent auditor
•       Prepare year-end books for audit and assist with annual audit as needed
•       Ensure revenue transfers are adequate and timely
•       Oversee bi-monthly payroll for all hourly and salaried employees
•       Oversee all required payroll tax reports in a timely fashion
•       Ensure payroll entries in the accounting system are accurate and up-to-date
•       Manage lease and relationship with landlord and/or debt service providers
•       Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures and
        regulations for the following entities: federal, state, and district,
        governmental agencies, tax authorities, and lenders
•       Review insurance maintained for the organization
•       Organize and manage the system for purchasing goods and services
•       Ensure employee files are maintained according to law
•       Assist in selection and management of health benefits program
•       Troubleshoot claims issues as necessary
•       Oversee other normal financial management responsibilities

Desired Qualifications

•       Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
•       A minimum of six years experience in accounting, cash management,
        and budgeting
•       Experience in managing nonprofit or public funds
•       Outstanding organizational skills
•       Experience working in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
•       Ideally someone who relates to our mission and will be fed by his or
         her enthusiasm to see us grow stronger financially as a service organization.
