Joseph LeDoux, PhD, a professor with the Center for Neural Science and the Department of Psychology at NYU, is an award-winning, leading researcher in emotion and memory, director of the Conte Center for the Neuroscience of Fear and Anxiety, and director of the Emotional Brain Institute. He is author of The Emotional Brain: The Mysterious Underpinnings of Emotional Life and Synaptic Self: How Our Brains Become Who We Are.
