Marie Basse-Wiles, trained from childhood in  a renowned alian/Senegalese musical family, and went on to become a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Senegal. Marie is well-known throughout the US for her dancing and extensive historical knowledge. In 1983 she co-founded the Maimouna Keita African Dance Company in Brooklyn, NY and currently serves as its artistic director.
