"...we must try to get the habit of regarding each exercise as if it were a small piece of art." - Michael Chekhov
Emphasizing physical movement and "the inner life of images" over the "personal and tiny" resources of the actor, the man whom Stanislavsky believed was his greatest disciple developed a technique adopted by some of the most powerful actors of our time: Yul Brynner, Gregory Peck, Ingrid Bergman, Anthony Quinn, Jack Palance, Marilyn Monroe, Anthony Hopkins, Clint Eastwood and Jack Nicholson. In this 4- week workshop, we will work on our feet to find active means towards creative expression, refining our sense of what Chekhov called the ‘four brothers'--ease, form, beauty and entirety.
