“The question is not what you look at, but what you see.” —Henry Thoreau
Musicians play scales and writers compose vignettes. What about photographers? How can they sharpen their skills while expanding their abilities to solve visual problems? What are the basic components of a successful image? This class is designed around a unique series of exercises that will challenge you to think conceptually and improve your technique: you will begin to look at familiar things in an entirely new way. This class is for the novice and the more experienced photographer who is working to evolve a personal style. Regular assignments and supportive critiques stress the importance of taking risks and motivate you to find new methods of self-expression. Students are free to work with any type of camera: traditional film or digital, even disposable. [More] |
