“Tell your friends everything. Give away all your secrets.” —Allen Ginsberg
Join us to honor Allen Ginsberg’s birthday, a decade after his death, as Ed Sanders, one of Beat’s favorite sons, reads his narrative poem, The Poetry and Life of Allen Ginsberg (accompanied for the first time by photographs from Ginsberg’s own archive) that takes us chronologically through history as witnessed, reflected and created by Ginsberg, introducing us to Ginsberg’s friends and foes and the luminaries he met along the way. This is a dazzling portrait that mines the riches of the literary, cultural and political history of the 20th century to celebrate a cultural giant and poet whose enormous influence continues to grow.
