Vajra Yoga combines the physical practice of Hatha Yoga with Buddhist meditation, tantra and philosophy. It views the body as a mirror of the mind and seeks to help us develop insight into how our minds and bodies interact. In this class, in order to see how the mind is directly expressed in the body and to look at the mind itself, we will utilize the tools of yoga asanas, meditation and “clear-seeing.” Each class will focus on different postures, seeking to help us align both our inner and outer bodies, and meditation techniques and sitting practice will be part of each session. A “beginner’s mind” is welcome as we will seek new ways to ‘see’ the practices of meditation and yoga, not as distinct methods but as symbiotic paths that offer us ideal support in our quest to become more awake, kind and real.
