Japanese Acupressure Massage
Shiatsu is a Japanese healing art of supporting and releasing Ki energy for the purpose of rejuvenation and uplifting the human spirit. Based on ancient traditions of Asian medicine and the Five Elements theory, it can be used to relieve backaches, menstrual pain, stress, and many other common ailments. This course will introduce concepts such as ki, yin and yang, and facial diagnosis. We will practice the basic hands-on techniques of shiatsu that include relaxation methods, meditation and work with meridians. By the end of the course, participants will be able to give complete body sessions. Designed for beginners, it is also open to bodywork professionals and those who are involved with other healing or therapeutic methods.
