Since beginning her journey over 22 years ago, Gro Mambo has emerged as one of the world's leading proponents of authentic Haitian religion and African-based religions. This evening, accompanied by singers, dancers and drummers, she will offer us an inspiring presentation of Voodoo music, dance and drumming. Special emphasis will be placed on the power of this African-based religion to heal the mind, body and spirit. This will also be a hands-on workshop which will show us how to use words, rhythm and ritual (combined with medicines) as healing tools. A debunking of prevalent myths about Voodoo dolls and zombies will also be part of the program.
