Reading Symptoms of Illness as Maps for Healing Print
Wednesday, May 09 2007

Symptoms are expressions of disease, but they are also the ways in which our bodies try to heal themselves, seeking to maintain homeostasis when challenged. For instance, in food poisoning cases, we are induced to vomit to expel the poison, and a fever can be the body's way of seeking to burn away infections.Tonight we will explore the basic differences between chronic and acute conditions and compare the treatment of their symptoms with what is known in homeopathy as "constitutional" treatment. We will also explore the uses of foods, herbs, homeopathic remedies and lifestyle changes and learn how to assess the best choices for natural healing in many acute or chronic situations.
