Tonight the director of this long-awaited film introduces his new work. Shot in Austria, Switzerland, India, the UK and the USA during 2011—the 150th anniversary year of Rudolf Steiner’s birth—this documentary looks not only at the biography of this remarkable visionary and philosopher, but also at his world-wide legacy in education (Waldorf Schools, Camphill), agriculture (Biodynamics), medicine (Weleda, Hauschka) and all areas of social and spiritual life. At the heart of this film lie the classic questions: Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?

His films include acclaimed biographies of Tolstoy, Gandhi and Jung, and an award-winning documentary on a Rudolf Steiner-inspired Camphill community for children with special needs. Rudolf Steiner (1861–1924) was perhaps the most remarkable spiritual figure of the

The Tarot, ostensibly a deck of decorated cards, is in fact a symbolic system whose images express Pythagorean, Platonic and Hermetic mystical ideas. Once one grasps the Tarot’s philosophy and structure, the cards can be used as an intuitive device to connect with one’s inner wisdom. In this class we will study the symbolism of the Tarot as its Italian Renaissance creators intended, come to understand its spiritual messages, and then learn and practice techniques that develop our intuition and enable us to read the cards as messages from our Higher Self.

Note: Bring a Tarot deck (the Waite-Smith or one of Robert Place’s decks) and some unlined paper.

The Tarot is a multi-layered oracle that allows us deeper insight into ourselves. Through Tarot we can both help others and have a more meaningful life. Our subconscious mind uses dream images as its primary method of communication. The archetypal images of the Tarot stimulate the connection to our subconscious and enhance our ability to hear the voice of our inner wisdom. In this workshop we will learn how to open our channels of receptivity and dialogue with our Inner Voice to become better Tarot readers. We will practice fitting together the images of the cards into meaningful stories; discover how to influence our personal evolution by choosing specific Tarot images to meditate upon, and explore the unique aspects of self that are awakened by each of the 22 Major Arcana.

Note: This workshop will be of benefit to both advanced and beginning students of Tarot. Bring a favorite deck.
