Join us monthly to explore ourselves through shamanic drumming and journey work. Shamanic drumming has been practiced for centuries by indigenous peoples around the world, as a way to gain wisdom, healing, and information, to bring balance to their people and the community.

Skulls & Roses: Healing the Ancestral Masculine— This month we will be working on healing deep patterns of both ancestral and karmic issues surrounding the masculine, with Skulls & Roses. With this profound connection to our masculine ancestry, we can discover aspects from our lineage, that has impacted the seven generation that came before us. A pattern will emerge, and we will bring healing to the deep wounds, of our inherited lineage soul.

You are invited to bring copies of photos of your male family lineage members, if you work with skulls please bring them, and for each attendee to bring a bunch of roses (which you will be bring all items back home with you).

Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a note pad and pencil, bandana or eye covering.  Open to all levels and traditions. Please note, no previous experience is necessary.

Note: No previous shamanic experience necessary. Two sessions (June 7+July 12) will be held outdoors (locations TBA upon registration). Please bring your own seating for outdoors sessions.

Tonight, don Oscar will share his personal story of apprenticeship in northern coastal Peruvian curanderismo and southeastern Andean paqo shamanic traditions. Illustrated by a selective slide presentation, this program also involves an experientially engaging introduction into the ritual arts of Pachakuti Mesa Tradition crosscultural shamanism originated by Don Oscar.

Note: This program includes the beginning of the “Healing as Grace” Saturday apprenticeship, and is a requirement for those taking Saturday’s full-day “Healing as Grace” workshop.

Itzhak Beery

Don Oscar Miro-Quesada

Today we will receive both a didactic and an experiential initiation into the millennial soul of Peruvian shamanic healing rituals. Using the Pachakuti Mesa, a ceremonial altar conducive to the revelation of rarely accessed powers, Don Oscar will share core teachings on cross-cultural shamanism that will enable us to shape-shift many common ills associated with “modern” living. We will explore several key techniques derived from ancestral Kamasqa curanderismo, such as: viaje con sombra (magical flight), vista en virtud (psychic vision), rastreo (divinatory guidance) and despertamiento del Ser (awakening to the wholeness of Self). Come discover how to use consecrated ceremonial space to allow self, culture and nature to harmonize through an exquisite dance of aesthetic sensibility and compassionate living; and how to encourage the emergence of a global  sacred community through the openness of our hearts, the depth of our vision and sacred trust in our living Earth.

Note: Friday’s workshop, Introduction to the Pachakuti Mesa,  is a prerequisite for those who wish to take this one-day workshop. Please bring a ceremonial ground cloth no larger than 36” x 36”, a favorite stone or crystal, shell, feather(s), a tall candle in a glass container, and a cherished shamanic artifact or sacred power object. Also bring other meaningful ritual tools and/or “medicine” pieces that “call out” to be with you at this ceremony. Lastly, bring a sacred sound maker and a journal, and wear loose comfortable clothing.
