Feng Shui is an ancient art developed over three millennia ago in China. It is a complex body of knowledge that reveals how to balance the energies of any given space to assure the health and good fortune for the people inhabiting it. Urban Feng Shui applies these principles to apartment and city-living contexts.

Applying the theory and principles taught by RD's teacher and mentor, the late feng shui HH Grandmaster Lin Yun, this class will give you the tools you need to transform your personal space and, importantly, the mindset that goes with it. This 4-week online course combines Western design principles with Feng Shui to align any space with dimensions of spirit, character, and a feeling of balance. This class is great for both the lay person as well as the budding Feng Shui consultant.

NOTE: Students must have access to a computer with a web browser for this ONLINE ONLY course, and may need to download free software to use some course features. Password-protected access to the course website is permitted only during the dates that this course is being held; PASSWORDS WILL BE ISSUED THE NIGHT BEFORE THE COURSE BEGINS; and user accounts will be deleted once the course is over. This “mini-apprenticeship” is for those who have had some exposure to shamanism and/or some experience of journeying into non-ordinary states but who wish to go deeper, either to make shamanism part of their daily practice or to add its age-old healing methods to their repertoire of healing practices. We will explore: rituals and practices from several traditions, including those of the Ecuadorian Quechua and of the Brazilian Amazon; shamanic journeying and divination; the role of power animals and teachers; the use of huachas (sacred items); how to set up a sacred altar; chants and music in healing; the development of intuition; healing techniques; and how to protect oneself from negative energies.

Note: Bring drums and/or rattles if you have them, as well as eye-coverings, a blanket, a journal and a pen. Sage will be burned in class.

This weekend will introduce us to the core practices of shamanism, used for millennia in cultures around the world to enter non-ordinary reality to solve problems and heal. We will: focus on the classic shamanic journey, the visionary method to explore hidden universes normally only glimpsed in myths and dreams; use drumming to enter shamanic states; awaken our dormant spiritual abilities; connect to the forces of nature; journey within to meet our spirit helpers; and discover a variety of shamanic divination and healing methods. Come discover how to use shamanism to help heal yourself, others, and the Earth.

Note: Originated by Michael Harner, this is the Basic workshop of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and is the prerequisite for all advanced Foundation workshops and training courses. Bring: a rattle or drum if you have one, comfortable clothing, warm socks, a bandanna, a cushion and/or blanket, a grapefruit-sized rock, a pen, and a notebook.
