1) Event Coordination Manager – New York Open Center
POSITION SUMMARY

The New York Open Center is looking for a manager for our Events Coordination department.  The ideal candidate is a hands-on manager that understands how to build a team, meet deadlines, deal with time sensitive duties, and handle high profile presenters. The role often requires grace under pressure.  A background in Theatre Management and Stage production is highly desired. Also resonance and knowledge of holistic subjects is a big plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Coordinate all of the Center’s events (including workshops, lectures, concerts, professional trainings, and conferences)
* Train and supervise the Event Coordination staff and volunteers, and their schedule
* Candidate must have a working knowledge of general sound, audio & lighting equipment (PA’s, microphones, LCD, overhead & slide projectors, theater lighting)
* Must be skilled and resourceful in finding venues for our out-of-house events, and in negotiating contract details, including fees.

2)  Café Manager

We are looking for an experienced manager for a café. The café will seat 20-25 people and will be blended with our reception and bookstore. Initially, we plan to serve only coffees, teas, and healthy prepackaged foods. We may serve smoothies, juices, soups, etc, in the future.

The Café Manager is responsible for the successful launching and operation of the café establishment (with support of supervisor). Café Manager will provide efficient and effective supervision of preparation of food, ordering, maintenance of equipment, staff supervision and training. Since this is a start-up project, this is a wonderful opportunity to co-create a unique café that will not only serve great food, but will provide a meeting place for the exchange of great ideas.

A qualified candidate has:

• 2-3 years Café managing experience
• a good resonance with holistic values, and a strong sense of customer service.
• good organizational skills, an exceptional eye for details and cleanliness
• an understanding of food and beverage operations, knowledge of organic food
• a valid food handlers permit
• experience with P.O.S. system
• to be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary
• business building and marketing savvy as a plus.

Compensation: $16 per hour
This position is currently part-time with a possibility to full-time-depending on the growth of the café.

3) Customer Service Agent
The New York Open Center is seeking a friendly, reliable person with excellent customer service, organization, and computer skills to serve as a Customer Service Agent. This position is permanent Part-time (approximately 15-25 hours/week). From time to time, must be available to work weekends and holidays. The Hourly wage is $10. Duties include: Managing registration in person, over the phone, and via e-mail; Achieving proficiency with our registration database system; Assisting in supervising and training volunteers; scheduling bodywork sessions, setting up bodywork rooms, collecting payments.
